Primary

Our primary curriculum develops skills across literacy, numeracy, science and Computer Studies. It is designed to help families deliver a broad and balanced curriculum that suits their context, culture and ethos and combines the rigour of academic learning, with the flexibility to meet the needs of individual learners, enabling them to develop the required knowledge and skills through guided discovery that will support their transition into the next phase of their learning. The curriculum sets clear learning objectives and focuses on developing knowledge and skills in all subjects, providing excellent foundations for the next stage of education. All subjects consist of a curriculum that is based on developing skills needed in the real world and then lead on to enabling the student to complete their IGCSE’s. Each child on our program has an individualised time table.

English

The English program introduces students to a rich variety of texts, both fiction and non-fiction, and aims to inspire a love of reading and writing. It develops the habit of reading both for pleasure and for information, answering questions about what they have read, and developing vocabulary. Each unit of work includes a grammar focus, helping students to identify and apply key grammatical concepts in their own writing.

Maths

In Maths, learners gain a deeper understanding of place value, written methods in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, mental arithmetic and importantly- applying what they know to problem-solving.

Science

Our Science course develops understanding of the world around our learners and aims to develop their natural curiosity. They are introduced to the domains of Biology, Chemistry and Physics and develop their enquiry skills.

Computer Studies

Our Computer Studies course further develops the use of technology and introduces learners to more advanced skills. There are units of work on coding and algorithms, with learners designing their own toys and games, and an introduction to Scratch and Logo. Staying safe online is also a key component of this course.
